Laughter is the music of the soul. On this day, through a collection of laughter exercises, you will experience a heightened sense of well being. You will feel relaxed, with a reduction in stress levels and experience an uplift of energy. Laughter boosts your immune system, and increases positivity & creativity. Most importantly, it reduces stress. You will leave feeling both relaxed and energized.

Jan Barley is a laughter facilitator and coach. Following the loss of her father in 2008, she realised the negative impact of stress and decided to change her life. Jan trained as a laughter facilitator in 2009 and discovered the power & impact of laughter. You don't have to possess a sense of humour to attend, as the brain cannot differentiate between 'real' laughter and structured laughter. The effects on the body are just the same, as it releases the 'feel good' endorphins. You will learn how to use simple techniques at home, and at work, as a way of tapping in to feeling good and reducing stress.

Laughter sessions

Ideal low cost 'warmer upper' for the start of a party, stag night/hen night, meeting or get together. Guaranteed to generate a feel good factor, it helps to bond everyone attending, and create the right atmosphere for a successful event.
Packages start from £50.00 plus travel

Laughter workshops
Usually available monthly in Cheltenham or Gloucester at various locations.

I will travel for laughter workshops, but need a minimum of ten people.
Workshops are priced from £45.00 per person for a five hour session

Laughter clubs
Laughter clubs will be available monthly on the last Tuesday of each month.

At the moment I am advertising and marketing, and will start up a club as soon as I have a minimum of eight people interested in attending. This will be at Bowden Hall Hotel, Upton St Leonards, Gloucestershire on the last Tuesday of every month and will be ongoing once established.

During each session we will have warm up and breathing exercises, followed by a series of laughter and laughter yoga exercises, designed to release tension and stress, unleash inhibitions and get you laughing! These clubs help you to learn self help laughter exercises, which will assist in building your immune system, releasing stress and making you feel good on a day to day basis.

Training sessions and workshops are designed to help companies and organisations to transform their performance, increase profitability and become leaders in their field. It has been scientifically proven that Laughter can have a profound effect on individual, group and corporate performance.

Meeting/conference Ice - Breaker Sessions (15 - 20 Minutes)

This short laughter program is an ideal and energising start to conferences and seminars. It will help to put delegates in a great mood, and will help to maximise concentration. This can be a stand alone at the start of the conference, or the first session can be followed by 5 minute bursts of energy boosting sessions every 2 - 3 hours.

This will help to sustain, and even increase, the attention span during long training sessions. It will also help to improve efficiency and performance.

Following the highly successful completion of a Laughter trial, I feel confident that you will be convinced of the efficacy of this program. If you would prefer a long term cost effective solution, I can provide training for your employees to run your own laughter sessions.

Dr Lee Berk & Stanley Tan of the Loma Linda University Medical Centre in California have conducted numerous studies of the effect of laughter on the body. They studied volunteers who watched funny videos and noted favourable physiological changes.

The National Cancer Institute tell us that laughter is the flip side of stress. It lowers cortisol while increasing endorphins.

High levels of cortisol suppress the immune system and cause blood pressure to rise. Through analysis of blood samples from the people watching the video and experiencing mirthful laughter they found that: -

Cortisol levels diminished and remained at low levels well into the recovery phase
   
Immunoglobins, IgA and IgM increased during the comedy and remained during the recovery
   
Natural Killer Cells {NK} activity in experimental subjects increased significantly and remained elevated during the recovery phase
   
Plasma Cytokine and Gamma Interferon levels increased in subjects viewing the laughter video and remained elevated during the recovery phase
